That one does look mighty tasty, though.

Sticks and stones may break my bones...

But dandelions just confound me.

Dad busted mom and I eating some unidentified cheesy potato sample at Trader Ho's. Mmm, I like grocery store samples.

Some day, I will hate my parents for my hair. Of course, I will probably hate my parents for a myriad of other offenses, not the least of which writing a blog in "First Person Oscar" so they may as well spike my 'do with breastmilk and take plenty of nekkid photos.

Playtime with yams.

This week, Oscar has decided to veto solid food. Anything that goes in comes back out with a big raspberry. He blew beets all over mommy once this week (no more beets for Oscar).

So, in an effort to lighten mealtime, mommy decided to let Oscar feed himself the yams that he wasn't interested in eating from the spoon. He was way into the way they squished between his fingers, and we all agree they make an excellent hair fixative.

Next week, maybe we'll want to eat them again.

Oscar's found his lips.

It's finally springtime in Pittsburgh.
The winter was mild up until shortly after Christmas, when the snow seemed like it would never stop. Then it was like living in Seattle, except without the beauty of the sound and mountains. In other words, mommy says: "Thank God It's Spring."

We hung out on the lawn a lot this week, and went for lots of walks. Mommy's been wearing me in her new carrier, figuring that the extra load will help her get rid of her extra load.

It's my 8 month birthday today.

Mommy just realized it when she looked at the date and she's shocked. I am almost as many months old as she was pregnant with me!

This week, I weighed 23.5 pounds, and I'm 29 inches tall. That's nearly two and a half feet tall.

This first year is going so quickly.

Well, it's about time my parents finally got off their butts and created the blog they've been talking about for seven months. You'll note that the last post was a month after I was born.

I'm clearly much older now.

You know, "blogging is easy" is what they say, but when it comes down to it, it takes time that takes away from, well... me.

Better late than never!

What better time than to start with my most recent (and very first) big vacation.

This picture is of me at my Grandma Jill and Papa Tom's. I was in Montana last week, and spent time at their ranch. They're going to buy me a pony to put this saddle on. I told Papa Tom that I'd like it to be striped, like the color of my shirt. He's going to see what he can do about that. Posted by Picasa

Hi! Welcome to Oscar's Blog.

This is Oscar. He was born on July 30, 2006 at 9:07pm. He weighed 9 pounds and was 21.5 inches long. He is the absolute coolest guy ever.

This blog is written for you, Oscar. It's about you, by us, your somewhat weird and clearly photo obsessed parents.

This week, you turn one month old and we decided it was high time to start blogging your life.
